Youth Volunteer Corps

What are you doing with your "out of school" time?! YVClogojpeg3

Why not challenge yourself? Who knows what you can do?

Our Mission: We create opportunities to address community needs and to inspire youth for a lifetime commitment to service.

Youth Volunteer Corps of Muskogee is a team-based service-learning program for area youth in grades 7-12. Program participants engage in meaningful service activities while having fun and learning about our community and themselves in the process! Sponsored by the City of Muskogee/Parks & Recreation since 1993, YVC is an affiliate of YVC of America founded in Kansas City, MO in 1987. There are currently 34 affiliates across the US and Canada. All YVC projects are supervised by Adult Team leaders.

During the school year, YVC members meet for a variety of projects and assist with community events after school and on Saturdays.

In the summertime, things heat up with an intensive 6 week "Summer of Service" volunteer experience that begins with an orientation that includes first aid and water safety, proper food handling & storage, recreation leadership, and team building. Youth select the projects that fit their schedule and interests. The projects vary in length, so whether you are looking for something to do each day, or just a day or two each week, we have something to fit your needs.

Check out our Youth Volunteer Corps of Muskogee page - Facebook or the YVC Program Website - to see us in action!
